~ Fifth Element Cahabón Cacao ~

Fifth Element Cahabón Cacao is lovingly handcrafted by a Cacao Collective, led by Shirley + her family in San Antonio Aguas Caliente, within the Kaqchikel nation. They are deeply committed to quality + traditional practices.

100% Ceremonial Cacao Paste from Cahabón, Guatemala

Our Cahabón cacao is truly special, crafted by an incredible family with an inspiring story. After fleeing one of the most dangerous areas in Guatemala City, this brave family found safety + stability in the small town of San Antonio Aguas Calientes, near Antigua.

Despite facing tremendous challenges, they worked diligently to establish a 100% organic + biodiverse cacao production facility, sourcing their exceptional cacao from the lush jungles of northern Guatemala, specifically in the Cahabón region.

Each batch of Cahabón cacao is made entirely by hand, with the exception of a stone grinder—a simple machine used to grind the beans into a rich + luxurious paste.

This careful, intentional process ensures that every aspect of production is completed with love + attention to detail.

Their meticulous process ensures that every aspect of production is performed with intention + care. We are deeply grateful to support this wonderful family operation + to create job opportunities in communities in need.

The Unique Characteristics of Fifth Element Cahabón Cacao

Fifth Element Cahabón cacao presents a flavor profile that includes noticeable bitterness akin to black coffee, adding an interesting aspect to its taste. The lower oil content allows the cacao to present clearly, with oil rising to the top when poured but not accumulating significantly. In terms of handling, Cahabón cacao breaks into flakes + exhibits more resistance during cutting, reflecting its drier texture.

High-Quality Cacao

This cacao comes from the region of Cahabón, Guatemala + it’s made from the highest quality beans, known as Criollo.

Biodiverse farming

The cacao sourced in Cahabón used in this paste is grown using regenerative + biodiverse farming practices that prioritize the health of the soil, wildlife, + ecosystem.

Directions

Mix 2-3 Tbsp of ceremonial cacao into 6-8 oz hot water in a blender + mix until foamy!

OR even better... Do it the traditional way + mix your cacao (2-3 Tbsp) with double the size of hot (but not boiling) water, mix well until it becomes liquid + then add enough hot water to fill your cup.

Cacao paste can also be added to foods, smoothies, breakfast bowls, ice cream, energy balls, + more!
